- This is a pre-solicitation synopsis in accordance with FAR 5.201. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is it construed as a commitment by the Government. This synopsis is prepared in accordance with guidance in FAR 5.207, and is prepared for the purpose of notifying potential offerors of an upcoming Firm Fixed Priced solicitation for supplies in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWCIHEODTD). NSWCIHEODTD has a requirement for fabrication, test, inspection, and shipment of MK 85 Nozzles. The MK 85 Nozzle is an item designed as an outlet for the rocket motor. The nozzle body is made of steel, SAE 4130 per SAE AMS 6370, hardness RS 20-30. The Weather Seal is made of aluminum and Mylar. The nozzle must be manufactured in accordance to the drawings and all applicable documents. The contractor who is awarded the contract will purchase the material, fabricate, perform in-process inspection, acceptance tests, and package nozzles.
