Description
NOTICE OF INTENT The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Indianola, IA hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), Requirements Contract to Blank Park Zoo Foundation (Zoo) located at 7401 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50315. This requirement is for services under NAICS code 712130 Zoos and Botanical Gardens for which the agency intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1. The Requirements contract period is for a Base Year plus Three Option Years with a cumulative four (4) year maximum ceiling cost estimated at $345,000. This requirement is to secure reliable, quality, humane care and quarantine of various small non-venomous live reptiles and amphibians under the care of FWS. Work includes daily monitoring, feeding, enrichment services, medical treatments if necessary, and reporting on health assessments and overall condition of animals accepted at the facility. The Blank Park Zoo Foundation is centrally located to Indianola, IA and is qualified to quarantine, house and properly care for small live reptiles and amphibians. Employees of the Zoo are educated and trained to care for live reptiles and amphibians and their expertise will ensure the well-being and increase the survival rates of the animals. This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Responses received from this solicitation will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the agency not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the agency. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government and would not be cost or time prohibitive.
