Description
SPECIAL NOTICE - This notice adds an additional requirement for a Radome Emergency Kit for model S58-86, which applies to the ARSR-3 system. 99--NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: L-3 ESSCO. NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), intends to award a single source contract to L-3 ESSCO, Ayer, MA. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center proposes to acquire, under single source one complete Emergency Kits (with all accessories) from L-3 Communications ESSCO (L-3). The kit to be purchased is for model S57-73, which applies to the ARSR-4 system, respectively. These assets are expendable and are needed to address emergency spare requirements (catastrophic weather events, etc.). In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced based on L-3 ESCCO ™s has developed a proprietary manufacturing process that increases the structural integrity and RF performance of the radome, model S57-73. This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to L-3 ESSCO and is not available for full and open competition.
