Description
Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-5, with their academic affiliate, Case Western Reserve University for research services. The Advanced Platform Technology Center was formed as a collaboration between LSCVAMC and CWRU. This contract requires the Engineers at the APTC to contribute substantially to the study entitled Hybrid Drug-Eluting Microfluidic Neural Probe for Chronic Drug Infusion. The engineer(s) will be fluent in protocols for electrode implantation animal experiments and rodent electrophysiology. This study focuses on improving the stability and quality of electrical signals recorded from neurons by intracortical microelectrodes that help individuals with spinal cord injury control robotic limbs or use a computer. The techniques required to complete the work are highly specialized and require the specially trained engineers at the APTC to complete. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, May20th, 4:00, EST. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
