Description
The U.S. Army is conducting a market research on potential sources for the John Deere engine National Stock Number 2815-01-536-0718, Part Number 4045TF275. This sources sought is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation or a request for proposal and shall not be construed as a commitment by the government. Responses in any form are not offers and the government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this announcement. No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this announcement. Any information submitted by respondents to this announcement is strictly voluntary. It is believed these John Deere engines will be in a non-available status as of August 2019. Currently, the U.S. Army acquires them from one source only. However, other potential sources can submit information concerning their capability to supply the parts for a minimum three John Deere Engines to the U.S. Army. This information will be used to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The procurement involves above part number, an extra Engine Control Unit (ECU) and Radiator Assembly. Potential sources who propose to manufacture the parts must either: 1) Demonstrate that the offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured; or 2) Complete and provide current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered parts (i.e., salient physical, functional and serviceability characteristics). The submission of a technical data package for review must not impede the award of this requirements type contract, but will qualify the proposer for follow on acquisitions of the specific part numbers offered. It is the Government belief that only John Deere, the manufacturer of the parts, and/or its dealers and distributors can furnish the required parts and ensure proper fit, form and function of all its components. Other potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities to furnish the above items are invited to submit complete information discussing such capabilities in duplicate within 15 days of this announcement. This is not a RFP. The Government will not pay for information solicited. Responses must be concise and specifically directed to the requirement mentioned above. Respondents to this notice must fully demonstrate the capability to accomplish the above and are to supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate a bona fide capability to provide the above items. Point of Contact for this Sources Sought is Mike McHale, michael.j.mchale2.civ@mail.mil 586-282-8027. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (20-MAY-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
