Description
This prospectus is being issued to solicit applications for a concession offering that includes 45 campgrounds and one rental cabin. A special uses permit to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of Government-owned recreation facilities located on the Cle Elum (CE), Naches (NA), and Wenatchee River (WR) Ranger Districts of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest will be issued to the selected proponent. The Cle Elum, Naches, and Wenatchee River Ranger Districts are adjacent areas and combine to form the southern portion of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. These districts are popular destinations for recreation for local, Puget Sound area, and national destination visitors. Each district is connected by highway access to the west side of the Cascade Mountain Range and its population base and is about a two hour drive from the Seattle metro area. The dry side of the Cascade Range is a popular destination for visitors seeking a wide range of outdoor activities. National Forest campgrounds on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest are a destination in themselves as well as providing a base camp for visitors enjoying everything from boating, hiking, biking, motorcycle/ATV riding, horseback riding, rock climbing, fishing, and scenic touring in the surrounding National Forest landscape. Lower elevation campgrounds are typically ready for visitors beginning in April while higher elevation campgrounds will open based on snow conditions in later May or June. The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is most noted for a wide range of recreation opportunities. There truly is "something for everyone" who likes to have fun in the outdoors. If requested by applicants, a single site visit may be scheduled during June or July of 2019. All applicants will be encouraged to attend this on-site visit to review the facilities if and when it is scheduled. The date, time, and tour locations will be posted on the Forest website at: www.fs.usda.gov/goto/okawen/prospectus See attached documents for additional information. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (28-MAY-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
