Description
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS/QUOTES/PROPOSALS. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Office of Acquisition on behalf of the Office of Production Engineering intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price Blanket Purchase Agreement for professional engineering and technical support to include on-site & off-site services for the sustainment and enhancement of existing Single Note Inspection (SNI) equipment. The intended contractor is Giesecke & Devrient America, Inc. (GDAI). The Government intends to award a sole source contract utilizing a Justification & Approval in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5. The BEP uses four (4) SNI systems to inspect the quality of certain U.S. banknotes. Each SNI system primarily consists of a banknote processor with inspection system software. BEP has an ongoing, long-term need for engineering and technical support services, to include training, auxiliary materials and supplies that are required to sustain and enhance the SNI operations at its facilities. GDAI is the original equipment manufacturer of the SNI systems and do not have any authorized service providers. Anticipated ordering periods will consist of five (5) years. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government. Responses MUST be received NO LATER THAN 9:00AM, EASTERN, 6 June 2019.
