The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this RFI. This notice is to assist Networking Contracting Office 15 in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this source sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Kansas City Medical Center located in Missouri is seeking potential Contractors capable of providing on-site Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) services for the Kansas City VAMC, at 4801 Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64128-2266. The estimated total number of hours per year is 1,007, which equates to an estimated.5 Full Time Equivalent (FTE). Services to be provided include: Contractor shall cover the range of Neurophysiology services to be used in performing the services below: The Contractor shall be responsible for providing coverage to the VA during periods of vacancies of the Contractor s personnel due to sick leave, personal leave, vacations and additional coverage as required. In the event a scheduled CRNA is unable to complete an assigned shift, the contractor shall provide replacement CRNA coverage within 2 hours and notify the Contracting Office Representative (COR) at the Kansas City VAMC immediately of the schedule change. Contractor s personnel shall be available and present during normal Kansas City VAMC clinic hours. Kansas City VAMC clinic hours may be revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care by the Chief of Staff. Currently, normal clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Scope of Care: Contractor s personnel (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Anesthesiology care, including, but not limited to: Clinic and Surgical Care: Contractor s personnel shall provide clinical Anesthesiology services. Contractor s personnel shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time. Operative Services: Contractor s personnel shall provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services including patients undergoing cardiac surgery, orthopedic joint replacement, and major vascular, thoracic, neurosurgical, plastic, ENT, urologic and ophthalmologic operations.   Contractor s personnel shall provide clinical care of patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, electrophysiology, gastrointestinal and radiological suites. Contractor s personnel shall provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management. Contractor s personnel shall provide consultative services at the patient s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic, setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic. Medications: Contractor s personnel shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients. Discharge education: Contractor s personnel shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients. Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621399, Offices of all other Miscellaneous Health Practioners Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy.
