- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Emory University. The Preventing Maternal Deaths Act of 2018 provided funding through CDC in FY 19 to establish or continue a Federal initiative to support State, local and tribal maternal mortality review committees (MMRC), to improve data collection and report around maternal mortality. MMRCs review every maternal death and the circumstances surrounding the death in an effort to effect policies that work to prevent deaths from occurring from similar circumstances. Across the United States, there are a number of well-documented differences in the burden of maternal death that are associated with ethnicity, socio-economic status, geography, and age. The equity toolkit and dashboard will enable MMRC to more easily identify the points along the patient care continuum that contribute to disparities; this will enable the MMRCs to recommend policies that reduce maternal mortalities amongst all groups, by ensuring that care is equitable and available to the most affected populations of women. Emory University has developed an equity toolkit and dashboard, intended for use by MMRCs. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
