Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), is seeking potential sources to provide Neurologist Physician services onsite at the VA. Services consist of up to one hundred twenty (120) hours per week from one to three physicians that are board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Contract will be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity and the number of physicians and hours of services needed may change during the base and option years and range from a minimum of one FTE during the base year to up to three FTE any time during the base and option years. It is important to note that the contractor must be able to present candidates that can meet ALL the responsibilities listed below within four weeks of notification of a need of a provider from the VA and then the candidate and contractor must complete all credentialing paperwork and requirements within four weeks of selection of VA. The contractor physician(s) must be present at the VA facility and must be performing the required services from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Monday through Friday, for the period specified in the contract. Contractor s physician(s) (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Neurology care, including, but not limited to: Provide comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment and education of patients with Neurologic disorders. Evaluate, triage, and prioritize consult requests to ensure timely care for patients suspected of having disorders of the nervous system. Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other medical personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. Perform, supervise and interpret results of procedures related to Neurologic disorders such as lumbar punctures, EMGs, and EEGs. Lead the Code Stroke team in accordance with the facility stroke protocol Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews, Compensation and Pension evaluations. Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE). Provide on call services as needed for after hours and weekend support. Provide clinical supervision and support to any Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners working in the Neurology clinic. Physician will be required to attend staff meetings, serves on committees, teams, workgroups, and peer reviews as requested. Completes CME, VA Training, HIPAA, Security training, and other training mandatory trainings. NEUROLOGIST PHYSICIAN SERVICES, including but not limited to the following: Electroencephalography, both recording and interpretation Perform and interpret electromyography and nerve conduction velocity studies Perform Lumbar punctures Interpret EEGs Intrathecal administration of medications Prescribe/order medications in accordance with our formulary system Provide Telemedicine cervices Complete exams for compensation and pension/disability purposes Botox Injections Trigger point injections Code Stroke Coverage The NAICS code for this requirement is 621111, Office of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists) and Size Standard is $11.0 Million.
