This is not a solicitation or a request for proposal and shall not be construed as an obligation or commitment by the Government. An award will not be made on any offers submitted in response to this notice, and it shall not be implied the Government is committed to providing any solicitation or award following this notice. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this request, nor will the Government compensate a respondent for any costs incurred in developing information provided. Responses shall be submitted to kurt.tanny@va.gov by 4:00pm EST on Thursday, June 13th, 2019. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine interest and capability of potential sources of supply. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 19 (NCO 19) is seeking responses to this request for information from interested, capable firms that can meet the requirements set forth; Summary: George E. Wahlen, (Salt Lake City) Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) requires a system update from Pyxis to current Pyxis ES platform, replace aging automated dispensing machines (ADMs), and incorporate new refrigeration security systems. The medication management system will have various components including Pharmacy systems for the security of medications and comprehensive dispensing (CII Safe), ADMs or Med Stations for point of care dispensing, Anesthesia Stations that will provide medication security and dispensing functions, Secure cabinets for storage of medication and supplies, and all servers, ancillary equipment, and software to provide a comprehensive system of medication accountability. Requirements the system include but are not limited to; Med Stations will have a touch screen, keyboard, and touchpad. Med Stations will have multiple configurable lidded pocket sizes to include larger medications and Intravenous bags. Med Stations will be capable of custom configuration of internal drug cubbies without vendor support. Med Stations will be able to securely dispense refrigerated or non-refrigerated medications. Med Stations will alert user for quantities removed greater or less than ordered. Med Stations will have secure dispensing of controlled substances with drug dependent levels of access. Med Stations will have ability to allow reallocation between stations. End users will have ability to request a medication not in the point of contact machine. End users will have ability to document waste. Have bio ID scanning technology for security. Med Stations will configure with pharmacy systems using the same server to transfer admissions, transfers, discharges, and orders in real time. Med Stations will have ability to run various inventory reports. The software will be able to communicate outbound and inbound messages with VISTA. Med Stations will have the ability to print to network servers. Med Stations will have ability to reconcile discrepancies at the point of contact machine. Inventory reconciliation. Bar Code verification of doses leaving pharmacy. Real time information exchange with VISTA and other hospital information systems. Med Stations will be able to dispense multiple medications from the same drawer at the same time. Vault Equipment will be able to track sent medications for placement in ADMs. Med Stations will be able to print drug information on network printers. Med Stations will have over ride and non-over ride status. System shall be able to run reports to trace medications, individuals, or access. System shall be able to retain all events to a data storage system. System will include inventory management and suggested orders for ADMs. System will have a drug formulary that can link drug names. System shall support IPsec encryption. System will run in a virtual environment. System will allow for concurrent users at the same time. System will allow SQL server and clustering CII Safe will have compounding software. CII Safe will have offer a wide range of reports and information tracking. CII Safe will have ability to dispense patient specific medications or to ADMs. CII Safe will have ability to store waste in a secure location. Refrigerators will interface with Med Stations. Medications kept locked in refrigerator will have inventory kept in Med Station end user interface. Each component is to have various security features. Anesthesia systems will provide a secure environment for controlled substances and provide a clean space for extemporaneous compounding.
