Solicitation Number: 36C24719Q0607 Notice Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Synopsis: This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial services/items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for solicitation, evaluation, and award as prescribed under FAR 13.1, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is 36C24719Q0607 and is issued as a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION (iii) The provisions and clauses incorporated into this solicitation document are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-52, November 2, 2011. Provisions and clauses incorporated by reference have the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. We particularly investigate neurological deficits that affect the ability to sense and move as well as memory and cognition. To understand the mechanisms contributing to poor recovery after stroke in diabetes and hypertension, we use molecular and biochemical tests to measure the levels of DNA, RNA, and many different proteins in tissues and blood. To make these measurements, we need a multimode plate reader that can do a UV and light absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence measurements. OBJECTIVES: We need a plate reader that -uses a uv/vis monochromator for absorbance, tunable from 230-999 in 1 nm increments -uses a quad mono system for fluorescence tunable from 250-700nm, top and bottom -uses a separate luminescence fiber for reading luminescence -orbital, linear and double orbital shaking is included -incubation with condensation control is included -upgrade path to add fluorescence polarization, HTRF and dual injectors at any time. SCOPE: This Statement of Work defines the effort required for the Ergul Lab of the Veterans Research and Development Charleston VAMC to procure a multimode plate reader that will fulfill our abilities to establish sound and justifiable results to present legally defendable research within the scientific community. The SOW includes the associated requirements for the scope of work to be performed, and applicable reference documents, required goods, tasks, training, schedule of deliveries and acceptance procedures. TASK: The contractor shall provide multimode plate reader equipment as stated in the statement of required goods and coincides with our market research. Upon delivery of the plate reader, installation and optimization should be performed to prove the lab with an at-ready to use state of function. TRAINING The contractor shall provide a post installation instruction on use and function of the plate reader. SECURITY REQUIREMENTS An escort will be provided for the contractor for installation and instruction of the plate reader.
