Description

The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks information on vendors that are capable of providing one Compact Ultrafast Pulsed X-ray Source. This unit, when coupled to a National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST)-supplied driving laser, will produce bright pulses of hard x-rays whose duration is shorter than 200 femtoseconds. These Compact Ultrafast Pulsed X-ray Source pulses will be used in optical pump, x-ray probe experiments to analyze ultrafast dynamics in photoactive materials. Experiments of interest include ultrafast emission and absorption spectroscopy along with ultrafast diffraction.
