- Statement of work: Provide preventive and corrective maintenance to Hospital Stretchers and beds Manufactured by Joerns and Stryker Models: U700, SM 104, SM 204, SM 304 to bring them back to manufacturer specifications with Original Manufacturer Parts (OEM) for the period of Base Year and four years option period, in accordance with the following conditions. Preventive maintenance (PM) - PM scheduled program will be performed as per manufacturers recommendations. If the manufacturer s specifications are not available, the Vendor will conduct its own Risk Assessment to assign the appropriate PM frequency and will employ the PM guidelines established by the Emergency Care Research Institute (ECRI) and the American Hospital Association (AHA). Repairs - Complete repairs will be performed to re-establish proper operation of all stretchers at the Hospital. Shall be completed within 3 business days after parts have been received. Paint touch ups are included as part of the maintenance and repair activities; Vendor will perform up to one touchup per unit per year and only if necessary. Such activities will be performed outside VA s facilities. Transportation and material expenses are included. Parts Replacement parts are included. The inventory of parts to be maintained. Interested Vendor must make a purchase order to the OEM of the listed parts and others as determined by an initial evaluation. Inventory availability will depend on OEM delivery time. Other parts will be ordered as needed. Interested Vendor will not be responsible for OEM turnaround time on parts. However, to reduce turnaround time Interested Vendor must maintain an inventory of the most common replacement parts as determined by the initial and/or further assessments. Interested Vendor may provide the hospital with alternatives for parts acquisition. At all times this might be an option, if approve, for whenever the OEM indicates specific repair parts are in backorder. Site Visits Interested Vendor must perform on-site visits to perform preventive maintenance activities as determined by the PM schedule Description: THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION Only. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended for information and planning purposes only at this time; and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs. This Request for Information is intended for all Socio-economic groups: Service Disable Veteran Owned Small Business, Veterans Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantage Business and Small Business. Because this is a Request for Information announcement, no evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the respondents. No solicitation exists. Therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs Service Area Office East/Network Contracting Office 8, San Juan, Puerto Rico Services Team, is conducting market research to identify potential sources with the intention to award Service Contract. Responses to this notice should include company name, address, point of contact, phone number, fax number and point of contact e-mail, DUNS Number, Cage Code, size of business pursuant to North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS). NAICS Code is 811219. This procurement will be conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 10:00am Eastern Standard Time (EST) on June 18, 2019. This notice will help the VA in determining available potential sources only. Do not contact VA Medical Center staff in regard to this requirement, as they are not authorized to discuss this matter related to this procurement action, all questions will be addressed during the solicitation stage by the Contract Specialist. All firms responding to this Request for Information are advised that their response is not a request for proposal therefore will not be considered for a contract award.
