- Contractor will remove approximately 500 linear feet of existing chainlink fencing, post, rails, gates and any other fencing accessories from the building 418 compound. Upon removal of the existing fencing system, install a New Chainlink Fencing fabric with all post, rails, gates, and any other accessories required for a complete fencing system to be installed at the same boundary locations as the existing fencing. Fencing fabric shall be no less than 7 (seven) feet tall, with a 1 (one) foot top guard of barbed wire, for a total fence height of 8 feet. The new fencing must be minimum 9 gage wire mesh and mesh openings must be not be greater than 2 inches (51 mm) per side. Fence fabric material will be galvanized steel, or aluminum coated steel fabric. See UFC 4 022 03 for all fencing requirements. Install a 21 linear foot gate system as indicated on the provided drawings. Install outriggers(support arms) at 45 degree angles in a single arm (towards the threat side) or Y / V configuration, constructed of a single or double outrigger consisting of 18 inch (457 mm) arm(s), each having three strands of barbed wire at regular intervals along the top of the fence. o The outriggers must provide a minimum of an additional 12 inches (305 mm) to the fence height. The top guard fencing adjoining gates may range from a vertical height of 18 inches (457 mm) to the normal 45 degree outward protection, but for a limited distance along the fence line to adequately open the gates. Outriggers must be permanently affixed to the fence posts with screws or by spot welding. Screws used to affix outriggers to posts must be made tamper proof either by design, peening, or welding.
