Description

This is a Sources Sought Notice only. It is not a solicitation announcement. This notices is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability of potential sources who can perform the following on the MTU MPDEs (MTU 20 V Series 1163 TB93) installed on board on the USCGC STRATTON MPDE, conduct the required Main Propulsion Diesel Engine (MPDE) preventative maintenance and Diesel Engine Inspection, Plus renew the Diesel engine's geislinger coupling, and perhaps, as optional work: inspect and clean the diesel engine high pressure and low pressure Intercoolers, air side. The period of performance will be from DEC 1, 2019 through March 13, 2020. MTU America Inc. located in 39525 Mackenzie Drive, Novi, MI 48377 is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the only known sales and service representative in the U.S for this series engines and has access to all proprietary information, design data, technical data, and detailed drawings for these engines. The USCG does not possess all design and technical data regarding these MTU engines which are necessary in order to accomplish the work and cannot provide them to alternate sources to assist them in accomplishing the required tasks. Therefore, the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only the OEM, MTU America, Inc. (MTU), under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901, per FAR 13.501(a) Sole source " NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (17-JUN-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
