Description
The Lebanon VAMC has an urgent requirement for the installation of equipment to enable all existing panic alarms and door alarm contacts to be transmitted through the new Genetec Control Center. This requirement is to repair and upgrade the Lebanon VAMC s panic alarm system. A Genetec control center client will be installed to enable Operators to see the alarms and then radio the situation to responding officers. The main goal of the installation of this system is to repair and restore the use of the panic alarm system of the Lebanon VA Medical Center which is vital to maintaining the safety of the occupants of the facility and improves responsiveness. Currently the Lebanon VAMC has active contracts with Siemens Industry, Inc. that the panic system will be connected to. Siemens installed and operates the current security network which is a standalone system that does not reside on the VA s network. The addition of any products, software, hardware, etc. to the system would directly affect components currently owned and operated by Siemens. Given the integration and complexity of the systems and network, the potential exists to corrupt the current system database if another vendor were utilized for this requirement. Any corruptions could therefore void the current Siemens contract with the VA and all equipment and labor associated with the repair and/or replacement will be billable to the VA. The Lebanon VAMC intends to limit sources and enter into a sole source contract with Siemens Industry for this requirement, citing the rationale herein. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (17-JUN-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
