Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with Radiation Safety & Control Services, Inc.., Seabrook, NH. The purpose of the contract is for the contractor to provide all labor, materials, and equipment needed for replacement of existing PING (Particle, Iodine, Noble Gas) monitor that is nearing its end of life with a new PING monitor that is compatible with the other three Cyclotron Facility exhaust monitors. The acquisition includes a site visit to understand the physical layout and conditions of the location of the monitor; the design and assembly of the PING monitoring system (including UPS backup power supply); and delivery of the PING to its location of use, including installation, commissioning and user training. The acquisition will also include an extended warranty and service visits for 3 years. Thermo Eberline LLC is the exclusive manufacturer of the PING system, and they partner with Radiation Safety and Control Systems Inc., who is an authorized distributor of Thermo Eberline instruments and is uniquely qualified to perform installation, set-up, calibration and training on the PING system. At this time, there are no other distributors with the skill-set and experience of Radiation Safety and Control Systems Inc. authorized to perform this work on behalf of Thermo Eberline LLC.
