Description

Notice of Intent to Award The National Institutes of Health/Clinical Center/Office of Purchasing and Contracts intends to award a firm fixed-price contract to Karl Storz Endoscopy,2151 E. Grand Avenue, El Segundo CA.,902455017. The Department of Peri- Operative Medicine at the NIH Clinical Center has a need to purchase two karl storz 2.2mm and 3.7mm portable flexibleintubation bronchoscopeand three Karl Storz two 5.5mm and one 4.0mm C-MAC compaptible intubation scopes along with a C-MAC Video Intubation Paltform Cart with 7" flat panel monitor. This set of Intubation scopes is needed to assit anesthesia care providers with securing of airways for patient s undergoing general anesthestics and placement of double lumen endotracheal tubes.The portability of these scopes is required as there is often no tenough room for another tower to provide a large visual display in the operating room. The ability to better visualize the airway anatomy for placement of endotracheal tubes for the administration of general anesthesia especially for difficult airways improves the comfort and safety of our surgical research population.because the Department of Peri-operative medicine already owns the Storz C_MAC monitor and laryngoscope blades, the addition of the Storz-C-MAC compatible intubation scopes supports the NIH Clinical Center's goals for standarzation of equipment so tht equipment may be interchangeable.
