Description
** This announcement was amended to correct the max temperature listed below. The correct max temperature is 1,950 degrees** This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The USDA Forest Service, Forest Products Laboratory has a requirement to purchase one Sintering Furnace NEW or USED. Furnace must be equivalent to the Vacuum Industries Series 3500 Model 12-18-36-19501, to include; • Maximum Working Temperature of 1,950 degrees Celsius • Horizontal chamber • Stainless steel interior • Steel exterior with water cooled jacket • Front access door • Rear access door • Chamber interior overall of 37" diameter x 50" long • Hot zone assembly is constructed of 1" x 1" x 1/4" stainless steel angle supporting tungsten elements and 10 layered sheets (5 tungsten and 5 molybdenum) • Current work zone of approximately 14" wide x 18"h x 48" long • Cooling water minimum flow of 70 gallons per minute • Compressed air flow of 5 cubic feet per hour • Compressed air pressure requirement is 100 lbs per square inch psig • Power Saturable Core Power Supply System with 6 zones (800 amp/600 volt breaker) • Overtemperature control • Atmosphere capability including Hydrogen, Argon and Nitrogen purge capability • Two Stage Vacuum Pump System with 7 1/2 hp motor • Stokes Blower Model 212-401 with 2 hp motor, vacuum capability to 10-6 Torr • Oxygen Analyzer System • Misc spare parts/piping for the unit as available. The solicitation number for this procurement is 12-5680-19-Q-0002 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect in the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2019-02. A firm-fixed priced contract will be awarded in accordance with the following: NAICS Code: 541712 Size Standard: 1,000 employees The Government will consider all offers, for both new and used equipment. If the item offered is USED, the contractor must provide a condition description of all relevant components. A Government visit to the site may be required prior to award. This solicitation allows for full and open competition. All quotes received will be reviewed. NATURE OF ACQUISITON: The Government's requirement is for the purchase of one (1) each new/used sintering furnace. This procurement will be awarded under FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
