Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a fixed-price contract on a sole source basis to BioSearch Technologies, Inc., Petaluma, California for Black Hole Quencher (BHQ), CAL Fluor, Quasar and Pulsar dyes for incorporation into labeled fluorogenic probes. BioSearch Technologies holds the patent for BHQ technology. It is the only vendor authorized by the FDA to be used in a clinical testing application. Other Vendors sell similar laboratory supplies, but these are not FDA-authorized for the Agency's requirements. To use these other supplies would put the Government's current research and emergency Ebola response at risk. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 325199 with a size standard of 1,250 employees. This contract is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotations.
