- PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) intends to award a sole source contract to Alcon Laboratories, Inc. for providing preventive maintenance and repair services on Alcon Centurion and Constellation vision system equipment. This procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12 and 13. The Alexandria VA Medical Center (VAMC) located in Pineville, Louisiana has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, software, facilities, transportation and supervision necessary to complete all work associated with performing preventive maintenance, necessary inspections, and repair services, for Alcon Centurion and Constellation equipment. Based on market research, and previous acquisition history, it has been determined that Alcon Laboratories, Inc. is the only vendor capable of providing all the required preventive maintenance and repair services in accordance with original equipment manufacturer requirements. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The North American Classification System Code is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement to the attention of: James Hunt, email address: james.hunt2@va.gov, no later than Monday, July 29, 2019 at 10:00am (Central Time). Only emailed responses will be considered. Information received will be utilized solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is at the sole discretion of the Government.
