Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Lifesource Biomedical, LLC for the purchase of sample collection and laboratory diagnostic supplies for anthrax outbreak investigation activities in Ethiopia. The supplies are need for anthrax outbreak response activities in livestock and wildlife. The Embassy and CDC country office cannot receive and store the supplies due to the temperature sensitive nature of the supplies. The high-risk season for anthrax outbreaks in Ethiopia is June through September, so providing these supplies is urgently needed so that reported outbreaks can be investigated and confirmed. Lifesource is the only vendor able to provide all of the supplies in a timely and reliable manner, including providing the necessary paperwork for customs in advance of the shipments and coordinating international shipments. Furthermore, they are able to ship the supplies directly to Ethiopia. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
