- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number is DRUMUSMACLSTMH0030 and is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), unless otherwise indicated herein. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2019-03. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500.00 employees. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids. The solicitation pricing on www.UnisonMarketplace.com will start on the date this solicitation is posted and will end on 2019-07-25 12:00:00.0 Eastern Time or as otherwise displayed at www.UnisonMarketplace.com. FOB Destination shall be West Point, NY 10996 The MICC End User requires the following items, Brand Name or Equal, to the following: LI 001: An ultramicrotome is a laboratory instrument used to prepare high quality ultra-thin specimen sections for use in scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, and light microscopy. It is not a standard histological microtome which is limited in its ability to slice thin slices. An ultramicrotome is capable of slicing uniform sections in the 60 nm to 100nm range for the study of ultrastructure in various types of organic and inorganic samples. General Specifications: - The system MUST be capable of preparing ultra-thin sections down to a minimum of 60 nm in thickness. - The system MUST be ergonomically designed for long periods of use by an operator. - The stereomicroscope observation head must be adjustable to adapt to differences in operator height, interpupillary distance and head tilt. - The optical head MUST allow for examination of sections and for the accurate viewing of knife approach. - MUST be motorized, have a camera for specimen/blade observation and come with a touch-screen control system. - The control system must be easy to use and allow for storage of various user-developed cutting protocols. - System must include a computer and monitor for use with the viewing camera. The computer must come pre-loaded with all necessary software for camera operation. - MUST be capable of using standard diamond knives (example: Diatome), carbide steel knives, and user-prepared glass knives. - MUST include one diamond knife capable of preparing slices down to 100 nm. - MUST include an LED light system that allows for top light, backlight, and transmitted illumination of the sample face and the knife edge. - MUST include all appropriate system power cords. - MUST include a dust cover for periods when the instrument is not in use. - Delivery (Zip Code 10996), installation and training MUST be included. - One-year manufacturer ™s warranty MUST be included. - All power requirements MUST meet standard US specifications for voltage and frequency (120V / 60 Hz).
