This requirement is for the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. This RFI does not guarantee the issuance of an RFQ. If you have the availability to provide the requirement, please respond to this RFI with a capabilities statement. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The VA is not, at this time, seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested vendor s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. Any information submitted by respondents to this RFI is strictly voluntary. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Requirement The James H Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee, requires a contract to provide an Infinity 48-32 with applicable reagents and service for the period of 10/1/2019 - 9/30/2020. This instrumentation will be used to conduct molecular screening to detect MRSA. Instrumentation must be available at the time of proposal submission and shall include an on-board QC program capable of printing/displaying all internal QC/calibrations (e.g. when QC is out-of-limits). Instrument shall be FDA approved, CLIA Moderately Complex, fully-integrated and an automated analysis instrument that uses a Random Access Platform for nucleic acid analysis for the rapid detection of MRSA from patient specimens. Flexibility is required for future expansion of testing, using the same instrumentation footprint; to include, but not be limited to, MRSA NxG, Xpress Flu/RSV, MTB/RIF, Carba-R and Xpress Strep A. System should be able to run individual samples without the need for batching. System must use unprepared samples with little or no preparation time (measured in minutes). Reagents must be able to be stored at room temperature. System should be able to conduct the test and give results rapidly (measured in hours including preparatory time). System should have the ability to start and run multiple assay protocols simultaneously without stopping currents runs. User Friendliness: a) should not require a molecular trained technologist to operate the analyzer or to perform the test b) must provide software and/or supporting instrumentation required to maintain, or improve levels of data retrieval, which may be used for epidemiology, or cost-decreasing measures; c) ease in handling and resolving errors Please note that requirements defined to date may change before a final solicitation is released. RFI requirements are as follows: Please acknowledge if your company can provide the instrumentation and applicable reagents as described in this notice. Submit responses and related information via email to crystal.baird@va.gov by 8:00am CST, July 25, 2019. Proprietary/Confidential material shall be clearly marked on every page that contains such. Include the name, phone number, and email address of the lead from your organization. VA reserves the right not to respond to any or all emails or materials submitted.
