- The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, Fayetteville, NC 28301, intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract for the Durham VAMC in accordance with 41 U.S.C. §3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source. This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these services are highly specialized are only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date of July 25, 2019 to Medtronic USA, Inc., 710 Medtronic PKWY, WA, Minneapolis, MN 55432-3576. This is a Brand-Name Only requirement to satisfy the minimum requirements of the Durham VAMC. The Surgery Department at Durham VA Medical Center requires purchase of a new tray. They are currently using a loaner in the facility until July 31, 2019. Failure to purchase the new tray would require the surgery to cancel procedures.
