- This is a sources sought announcement only. It is issued solely for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. It is neither a request for proposals or quotes. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award of a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to an acquisition approach. The Department of Veteran Affairs Network Contracting Office 16 is requesting for Radiation Oncology brand name product CIVCO 3D Printer and Respiratory Plate. Background: 3D Printer: Currently the Radiation Therapy Clinic utilizes flaps of bolus material to either (1) compensate for anatomical curvature or (2) push radiation dose closer to skin surface, when delivering radiation to cancer patients. Due to the poor flexibility of the bolus material, air cavities form between bolus and patient skin surface. The air cavities thus formed, result in radiation inhomogeneity. Raspatory Plate: As the patients breathes, the tumor being targeted also moves. For patients where the treatment regimen involves hypofractionation, (i.e., very large radiation dose delivered in very few fractions) the importance of managing tumor motion becomes extremely important. The goal is to spare healthy tissue while maximizing radiation delivery to the tumor. The Radiation Therapy Clinic already has one of the respiratory plates in the clinic and is requesting to purchase a second plate. This plate allows Radiation Therapy Clinic to manage tumor motion, due to respiration motion, via indexed abdominal compression. Scope of Work: Contractor shall furnish including but not limited to all labor, materials, parts, equipment, tools, transportation, and supervision to provide the Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC), 2002 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, Texas 77030. The Contractor shall provide all necessary services including setup, configuration, database transfer and installation to get the specified equipment working properly. The Contractor shall provide all necessary training to the designated VA employees on how to use the installed equipment after completion of installation. The equipment, all of its accessories, and supplies that come with the equipment shall be brand new. Gray market items are Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) goods sold through unauthorized channels in direct competition with authorized distributors. This procurement is for new OEM medical equipment for MEDVAMC. No re-manufactured or gray market items will be acceptable.
