Description: Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting bids and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the DESIGN BID BUILD Renovate and Expand Locked Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for Patient Privacy Minor Construction project at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (VAMC). PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construct approximately 1,100 square foot addition to existing Building 203 and renovate approximately 8,000 square feet of interior space adjacent to the addition. Project includes structural upgrades, mitigation of hazardous materials, upgrades to privacy and security features, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical system renovations, new windows, and interior partitions and finishes. Enclosure of existing patio is excluded from this contract though a new entry point shall still be provided and code required upgrades still apply. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) in accordance with FAR Parts 14, 19, and 36 and be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small-Business Set-Aside. Offers received from other than Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small-Business concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $36.5 million. The solicitation will be issued on or about August 14, 2019. The period of performance is approximately 540 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000.
