SOLICITATION No. 36C247-19-Q-0683 Water Treatment Service Chiller and Boiler Plant WJB Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia, SC AMENDMENT No. 04 Solicitation DUE DATE for Quotes remains Friday, August 2nd 2019 SITE VISIT Questions and Answers: Question: Do all the chillers potentially come online at the same time, depending on load of course. (i.e. 2750 combined tons available), or is there a lead-lag program with the chillers where a smaller total tonnage is utilized? Answer: YES, ALL CHILLERS MAY BE ON LINE AT ONE TIME. YES, THERE IS A LEAD-LAG PROGRAM. Question: What is the average water loss per year for the chilled water system? Answer: GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE THAT INFORMATION AS RECORDS HAVE NOT BEEN KEPT ON WATER LOSS ON CHILL WATER SYSTEM. Question: I have not seen a designation for a particular chilled loop inhibitor. There are a couple of main options concerning which chemical to use. Is there a designated chemical that companies are supposed to use? (I.e. Nitrite or Molybdenum)? Answer: NITRITE IS CURRENTLY IN SYSTEM. GOVERNMENT WOULD PREFER TO KEEP SAME CHEMICAL IN SYSTEM. Question: What is the Boiler Steam Load? Answer: DEPENDS ON THE DEMAND FROM THE HOSPITAL and UNIVERSITY of SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. DAILY STEAM OUTPUT RUNS FROM 100,000 LBS to 500,000 LBS PER DAY. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (26-JUL-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
