Description
Notice Type: Sources Sought Synopsis: The purpose of this sources sought notice is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339115 Ophthalmic Goods Manufacturing with a corresponding size standard of 750 employees. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Veteran-Owned, HubZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The Veterans Health Administration Network Contracting Office 16, Houston, Texas, is seeking potential sources to provide a suite of ophthalmology specialty equipment in support of The Eye Care Line of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center Houston, TX. In an effort to standardize and support an existing suite of ophthalmology specialty equipment, The Eye Care Line must perform full dilated funduscopic examinations that allows visualization of the retina which can provide lots of information about a medical diagnosis. The suite of ophthalmology specialty equipment will enable VA ophthalmologists to conduct full fundoscopic exams that can discover pathological process otherwise invisible, examples are plentiful, and include recognizing endocarditis, disseminated candidemia, CMV in an HIV infected patient, and being able to stage both diabetes and hypertension. This sources sought and request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Identify if you are interested and capable of providing the product(s). Distributors: You must provide proof that your firm is an authorized distributor of the product. The VA does not accept grey market items. Grey/gray market also known as a parallel market, is the trade of a commodity through distribution channels which, while legal, are unofficial, unauthorized, or unintended by the original manufacturer. If you have an existing GSA or VA, Federal Supply Schedule contract, please include the contract details in your response. If you are a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), please provide a copy of your Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) memo.
