Description
SOURCES SOUGHT: This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. The U.S. Geological Survey is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to determine the interest and capability of any firm eligible to compete under NAICS code 541360 with a Small Business Size Standard $15.0M for an upcoming requirement for the purchase and installation of 6 full-sized discrete dynode multipliers plus any needed electronics, hardware, software, firmware for an existing Nu Instruments NP261. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. ALL COST ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION AS REQUESTED BY THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. Submission is voluntary. Project Description: General and Technical Specifications: 1. All equipment, detectors, controls, and other components necessary for the multiple ion counter detector upgrade for NP261 should be new. 2. All software and equipment shall be installed, including on-site verification by a factory-trained and certified service engineer. 3. 6 full-sized discrete dynode multipliers to be installed within the detector array on NP261 MC-ICP-MS. Five multipliers should be installed on the `low-mass ¿ side of the current collector block and spaced for the collection of masses 202, 204, 206, 207, and 208. One multiplier should be installed on the `high-mass ¿ side of the current detector block, in position for the simultaneous multi-ion collection of U-Pb isotopes. 4. The full-sized discrete dynode multipliers shall have a dynamic range of 0-2 Mcps, with non-linearity <0.1 % (+/- 1 standard deviation, SD) up to 1x10-13 A. The stability (i.e. drift on the Faraday-IC bias) of the full-sized discrete dynode multipliers shall be <0.1% / hour (+/- 1 SD) at 100,000 cps average count rate on the ion-counting detector. The peak flatness on the full-sized discrete dynode multipliers shall be <0.2% (+/- 1 SD) over 200 ppm relative mass deviation. The yield of the full-sized discrete dynode multipliers shall NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (30-JUL-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
