Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE Project Title: National Institute of Health Grant Funded Research/Data Analysis Application number: 9655222 Project number: 5I01BX003934-02 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 22, hereby submits a notice of intent to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract for research and data analysis on Catestatin improves glucose homeostasis and insulin sensitivity. The period of performance for this effort will be for one base year and 2-one-year option periods. Participating Healthcare Facility: VA San Diego Healthcare System 3350 La Jolla Village Drive San Diego, CA 92161 This sole source contracting action is pursuing a waiver from acquiring these services on a competitive basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) for the aforementioned requirement based on the application of FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii). This hereby constitutes a synopsis of the action proposed in this announcement. Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission or objective. The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. This is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. This is not a solicitation. Responses via e-mail only (no phone calls/voice mail messages regarding questions will not be accepted and will not receive a response) by August 15, 2019.
