Description
Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Bo-Rad for the CFX 96 Touch Real Time PCR System. This system provides the ability to obtain accurate results with volumes as low as 5 µl   minimize sample and reagent usage. There are several features which are not available on other Real Time Detection PCR Detection systems that are required by the VA. The CFX 96 has a patented self-adjusting heating motorized lid, an optical system consisting of 6 independent LEDs for excitation coupled to 6 wave-length specific photodiodes which enables true multiplexing, the wavelength specific excitation/emission light system provides a dynamic range o 10 orders of magnitude which is patented Bio-Rad feature. Bio-Rad also holds the patents for a mass-reduced plate holder and a dynamic 240 Celcius thermal gradient operating between 30-100. No other vendor or equipment can meet these required salient characteristics. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Friday August 2nd, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
