- This is not a request for proposals, bids, or quotes. This notice does not represent a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for information received because of this announcement. This is a Sources Sought notice to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement and determine whether a set-aside can be done. If no responses are received from potentially responsible sources, Memphis VAMC and its supporting contracting office NCO-9 - under FAR part 19.501(b) will have completed its due diligence regarding setting this procurement aside for small businesses and will proceed with procuring this requirement on an unrestricted basis or sole source basis. REQUIREMENT Nutrition and Food Service Section at the following VA facility(s) seek(s) to procure fresh produce (i.e. fruits and vegetables) 4 times throughout the week on a recurrent basis: Memphis VAMC 1030 Jefferson Avenue Memphis, TN 38104-2127 The Government anticipates award of a Firm Fixed-Price Estimated Requirements contract with economic price adjustment covering five years: base year with four option years, from 10/01/2019 through 09/30/2024. Produce shall not be frozen prior to arrival time. The package shall afford adequate protection against deterioration and physical damage during shipment from the supply source to the medical center. All products furnished shall be processed, packaged, and labeled under sanitary conditions in strict accordance with guidelines provided by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, using the best commercial practices that are standard for the industry. All containers shall be clean, sound and securely covered or sealed to provide adequate protection from dirt, filth, decay, contamination, or other similar means. All products furnished shall be processed at plants that have passed inspection by the Federal Government and meet local and state health and business license requirements. Deliveries shall be made as requested by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or his/her designee between 7:00am and 10:00am excluding Saturday, Sunday and Federal Holidays. Who have you contracted with? What was the contract dollar amount? How long was the contract for? What parts would you have to subcontract for? What percentages of work is subcontracted out? What is your service area coverage? The NAICS 311991 is applicable to this acquisition; with a size standard of 500 employees. Interested firms are reminded that in accordance with FAR 4.1201(a) Prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications at the System for Award Management (SAM) as a part of required registration in conjunction with FAR 4.1102(a) that states, Prospective contractors shall be registered in the (SAM) database prior to award of a contract or agreement.
