Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE WITH A SINGLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 02, in support of the Buffalo & Batavia NY VA Medical Centers, is currently seeking information in order to determine the existence of viable commercial sources capable of providing a collection means which renders Pharmaceutical Controlled Substance Wastage Non-Retrievable in the area these drugs are administered (i.e. Operating Rooms, Emergency Room, etc.). Description of Need: The VA is seeking a turn-key full service provider capable of installing Pharmaceutical Controlled Substance receptacles, removing the waste, and incinerating the waste, in addition to replenishing any needed supplies. Contractor staff shall handle all aspects as no VA personnel will provides hands on assistance with waste handling beyond depositing waste into receptacles. The anticipated period of performance will be September 01, 2019 through August 31, 2020, with four subsequent option periods. Receptacles must be affixed to the building and must be locked. Controlled substances will include pills, liquids and patches which must be rendered non-retrievable upon deposit into the receptacle. Performance must comply with JACHO, DEA, FDA, EPA, NIOSH, NYSDOH, NYSDOT, NYSDEC, and all other applicable regulatory agencies. The Buffalo VAMC has an anticipated need for receptacles at 35 collection points throughout the medical center. The Batavia VAMC estimates a need for receptacles at 5 collection points. NAICS Code: 562112 Hazardous Waste Collection and the small business size standard is $38.5 Million. This is not a request for quotes, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which clearly demonstrates an ability to provide this service, which shall be considered.
