The following is summary of work contemplated under this solicitation. Work is located at Canyon Ferry Powerplant approximately 17 miles east of Helena, Montana, in Lewis and Clark County. The principal components of work to be performed include the following: The work consists of removing and disposing of existing bridge crane motors and control equipment, electrical wiring, associated enclosures, trolley power rails; furnishing, installing, and testing new motors and variable frequency drive (VFD) crane controls, a new grounded rail conductor, and trolley festoon power system; removing and disposing of hoist ropes; furnishing and installing new hoist ropes; performing system checkout and commissioning, operation and maintenance training and certified crane load tests; and certifying crane lifting devices. TYPE OF CONTRACT: This requirement is solicited as a/an Request for Proposal (RFP) using the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 15 - Contracting by Negotiation. The Bureau of Reclamation anticipates the award of a Firm Fixed Price contract. MAGNITUDE OF PROJECT: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000 METHOD OF SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS: See Section L of this Solicitation. BUSINESS SIZE COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS: This acquisition is solicited as total small business set-aside. NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE: 238990. (All Other Specialty Trade Contractors). PRE-PROPOSAL SITE VISIT: An organized site visit has not yet been scheduled. Once that date and time have been determined, it will be addressed in an amendment. The government will allow at least 2 weeks from the date of the site visit before proposals are due. Attendees shall bring and wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety boots, hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
