Description

Special Notice: The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Reconditioning Center (NRC) awarded a Purchase Order for repair and/or replacement of the following equipment: 75 each MODEM, RACK MOUNT HIGH SPEED V.3400 [408201E], MOTOROLA PN: 620956040010, ASN: S100-1A3A1-3, 25 each MODEM, MODEL 2440 RACK, AAI PN: 62828-90046-1, UNIVERSAL DATA SYSTEMS PN: 62245083, ASN: S100-1A3A1 and 25 each MODEM, V.3225 S/A AAI PN: 62828-90050-1 PN: 62095136, ASN: S100-10-2 to Data Connect Enterprise. Sole Source Justification: The Government only knows of one source, Data Connect Enterprise capable of repairing or replacing these units. These RF modems are very old technology and repair parts are very difficult to come by. This limits the number of vendors offering telephone modem repairs. Because this effort was a commercial project, the U.S. Government does not possess the data or repair rights to this item. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (05-AUG-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
