Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis a contract with ATLAS COPCO COMPRESSORS LLC, 1909 Arundel Rd. Pasadena MD 21122. For the urgent purchase of one air compressor motor to maintain NIST site operations. There are two other compressors near failure that will require immediate service to restore them to dependable operations. These compressors were specially built for NIST and are critical to mission success. With a loss of site air research would be greatly impacted, with the potential loss of all site control air to operate the site steam and chilled water systems. Atlas Copco is the manufacturer of this specialized equipment and has certified mechanics, there are no other certified mechanics for the compressors in this service region. Atlas Copco is the only authorized distributor of genuine Atlas Copco parts.
