- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY - Solicitations are not available at this time. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The Bureau of Prisons has a future requirement for VT Welding Program Services for inmates at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCC) located in Pekin, IL located at 2600 South 2nd Street, Pekin, IL 61554. The NAICS Code is 611519. The contractor shall provide services in the form of VT Welding Program duties to the Education Department. VT Welding Program will be performed in the Education Department at FCI Pekin. Performance of this service is defined within the attached Statement of Work. Contractor to provide instruction in WELDING AND METALS FABRICATION that includes an industry recognized certification or diploma and transcript from an accredited post-secondary institution. Successful completion of the training program must qualify inmates for at least entry-level employment in a specified field upon release. A session is defined as one hour. The contractor will normally provide 4 (1) hour sessions per day, 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday, excluding Federal Holidays. To accommodate institutional needs, contractor may be required to add classes on Fridays. Work hours will normally be between 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution. The contractor shall not normally exceed 20 hours per week. Classes shall be generally scheduled as follows: Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM AND/ OR 12:30 PM TO 3:30 PM. The Government intends to place approximately 15 students in the program during the contract year. The Government contemplates awarding a requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit prices resulting from the forthcoming solicitation. The contract period shall consist of a base year and four option years. A Government solicitation document to provide these services is being developed, and a contract may or may not result. Market research is being conducted to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The Market Survey Questionnaire will be available on or about August 14, 2019, and will be distributed solely through Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps). All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation and/or amendments, will be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information regarding this acquisition. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. The response date for the market survey is September 11, 2019. No collect calls will be accepted. No telephone request or written requests for the market survey will be accepted.
