- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. No Solicitation is currently available. All information contained in this Sources Sought Announcement is preliminary, as well as subject to modification, and is in no way binding on the Government. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this request. The information requested will be used solely within the Department of Veterans Affairs to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside of the Government. The determination of a procurement strategy, based upon the comments submitted in response to this Sources Sought Announcement, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, and the small business size standard is $36.5. Project magnitude is between $500,000 to $1,000,000. Potential Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for an award (See Internet Site https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/). Potential Offerors must also have a current Online Representations and Certification Application on file with SAM. Description of Services Project #: 612A4-19-013 - The purpose of this project is to correct/improve pedestrian crosswalk areas located around the Memorial Plaza at Mather, construct a retaining wall, install a security gate and gravel, Building 650 door entrance remodel, and to install artificial grass around the area of the hospital. The contractor shall complete all site prep and installation according to specifications. Crosswalks will follow all Barrier Free standards and regulations pertaining to them. All curb correction/construction of crosswalks shall start from the edge of the asphalt and shall be diagonal curb ramps. Contractor shall install and embed into concrete ADA truncated domes at all crossings. Contractor shall repaint all curbs around island and roundabout. All through drainage piping shall be no larger than 1 in. in diameter. Contractor shall provide adequate protection of storm drains and ensure all drainage water flows properly towards a drainage outlet. Contractor shall correct existing crosswalk areas to ensure a smoother transition for pedestrians. Contractor shall relocate sprinkler manifold up to 10 ft. away from current location and relocate eight, sprinklers. Contractor shall work around Fire Hydrant that is in the work area. The contractor shall provide and install approximately 7500 SF of artificial grass system that is equal to or greater than Imperial AN Fescue. The contractor shall complete all site prep, drainage, installation requirements with the reviewed and approved shop drawings with manufacturers approval to meet all manufacturers requirements and recommendations for installation of the artificial grass. The artificial grass shall be attached to the perimeter edge of layouts shown in the appendix drawings and photos and as per the manufacturers installation requirements. The contractor shall provide all material and labor to construct a wall using retaining wall blocks equal or greater to Concrete Pavestone Blocks that will be 2 ft. high and anchored to the curb using #8 rebar every 4 ft at a minimum depth of 6 inches. The guard rail finish shall match the existing hand/guard rails of BLDG 650.The contractor shall also provide boxwood (buxus) bushes to be planted behind the length of the wall and connect to existing irrigation to provide a drip feed to the new plants. The contractor shall provide all material and labor to construct a new store front entry way into BLDG 650. The new doors shall be of high-quality aluminum and be motion sensor sliders one on the East and West side of the walls as well as full break away capable with an outward swing. The contractor shall install a Stanley Card Reader package to match the existing system into the facility. The contractor shall provide all material and labor to construct and new double swing security gate just to the east of the main entrance to BLDG 650 that is greater or equal to the Fixed Louvered Fence - Shadow 100 style. The contractor shall complete all site prep and installation requirements with the reviewed and approved shop drawings with manufacturers approval to meet all manufacturers requirements and recommendations for installation of the new security gate. The duration of this project is 180 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued. (g) Anticipated Teaming Arrangements (if any) (h) List of Projects (Government and Commercial) that are similar in scope and size, including Square footage of project. (i) Average price per square foot for each project identified under paragraph (h) above, using the total modified value of the contract Interested parties shall not submit more than 10 single-sided, type-written pages using 12-point font or larger. Published literature may be any number of pages. The Government will use this information when determining its business type decision.
