- 36C10B19Q0658 Page 1 of Page 1 of Page 1 of Page 1 of Page 1 of Page 1 of US Department of Veterans Affairs Request for Information 36C10B19Q0658 Clinical Surveillance and Database System THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/Sources Sought in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 15.201(e) to conduct market research for information and planning purposes only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, VA is not at this time, seeking quotes and will not accept unsolicited quotes. Responders are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested vendor s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. It is the responsibility of the responders to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. REQUIREMENTS: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) requires a comprehensive clinical surveillance technology and data management system/product that interfaces with existing data resources and has the flexibility/scalability to interface with systems not yet established (e.g. VistA, PICIS, CPRS, Cerner, Bed Management) to provide real time data and predictive analytics to enhance decision making. The system/products will allow multiple users to utilize multiple data resources to filter real-time data to create alerts, conduct queries, produce historical reports, and pull a variety of information related to the following: on-going clinical surveillance and monitoring of healthcare associated infections, influenza, emerging infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance trends, daily alerts, trending, analysis, documenting, and reporting to support mission critical activities within the Infection Prevention and Control, Pharmacy, Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and Quality and Safety programs at VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). The period of performance is 12 months with four (4) 12-month option periods. For project planning and information gathering, the Draft Product Description (PD) is attached which defines the scope of requirements. The Draft PD will be converted into a Performance Work Statement (PWS) prior to time of Request for Quote posting. Information obtained from this RFI will be used within the VA and will not be disclosed outside of the agency. Currently the planned Basis of Award is to award based on the lowest price, responsive, responsible offeror whose quote conforms to the Government s requirements, however, the Government withholds the right to change this in the future. In response to this RFI please submit the following: Suggestions for possible Product Description clarifications including the Requirement Tables; input will be taken into consideration for final PWS. Input on the hosting environment requirements in the PD Veterans Affairs vs. Vendor hosting. Please see PD Section 1.2. Questions or comments, if any, on the Draft PD. Provide a brief summary describing your company s available solution (business and technical) to satisfy the requirements. This shall include a short (no longer than 3 pages) capability statement for delivering the described solution in accordance with the requirements in the PD.
