- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Page 2 | 2 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 22, located at 4811 Airport Plaza Drive, Long Beach, CA 90815 is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government s intent to execute a Sole Source Award under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), specifically FAR Subpart 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. This procurement is being conducted using commercial item procedures pursuant to FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, specifically FAR Subpart13.106-1(b)(1)(i) allowing the Contracting Officer (CO) to solicit from one source. This will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) award and an anticipated award date is set for 9/29/2019. The intended Contractor is Abbott Laboratories Inc. / St. Jude Medical (an Abbott Laboratories subsidiary) Medical Department, Located at 1 Lillehei Plaza, Saint Paul, MN 55117-1761. The Contractor Abbott Laboratories Inc.,/ St. Jude Medical shall provide the Engineering Department of the VA WLA, on-site Preventative Maintenance and Repair Services of the Ensite Cardiac Precision System for both labor and parts of the systems hardware and software located at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, (VAGLAHS), 11301 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90073. The EnSite Precision Cardiac Mapping System is a catheter navigation and mapping system capable of displaying the three-dimensional (3D) position of conventional and sensor enabled electrophysiology catheters, as well as displaying cardiac electrical activity as waveform traces and as dynamic 3-D isopotential maps of the cardiac chamber. Abbott Laboratories Inc., / St. Jude Medical is the manufacturer of the EnSite Precision cardiac mapping system and holds the Proprietary Rights to all Equipment, Parts, Software and Licensing. The proposed period of performance shall be from September 29, 2019 through September 28, 2020. Total estimated value for the (1) Year requirement is $78,700.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is, 811219 Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a size standard of $20.5 Million. The Product Service Code for this requirement is, J065 Maintenance and Repair of Medical, Dental and Veterinary. This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of unsolicited quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear, compelling and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
