- NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award to a single source, one-time purchase order to Aviat US, Inc. (d.b.a. Aviat Networks) to provide the CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) with Aviat Eclipse ODU 600, the Aviat Eclipse IRU, and Provision Solution Pack pertaining to the end user ™s ability to monitor and respond to any interruption in services by being able to recognize disturbance links between any physical and Ethernet network issues. Purpose of the Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA ™s decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. The single source award of the Aviat Eclipse ODU, Aviat Eclipse IRU and Provision Solution Pack along with associated equipment is in the best interest of FAA and CBP as Aviat is the only known source to provide this system as Aviat does not allow the retail sale of their equipment through third party vendors. A letter of proprietary ownership by the OEM, AVIAT Networks, stating AVIAT Networks does not have any formal third-party distributors was received for this procurement.
