- 140P4519R0003: REPLACE ROOF & ASBESTOS REMEDIATION - THOMAS EDISON NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK, BUILDING 35, WEST ORANGE, NJ This is solicitation is hereby amended to respond to submitted questions. Question 1: What is the minimum R-value for the roof insulation? Answer 1: Please be informed that the existing roof does not have any roofing insulation, therefore, the existing R-Value is zero. Question 2: What thickness cover board is required? Provide R-value and thickness. Answer 2: The new roofing membrane requires insulation and cover board. My suggestion is that the minimum is acceptable, which is better and an improvement to existing. Since the roofing thickness affects new roof slopes at perimeter crickets for roof drains, the minimum will work best. The minimum requirement for insulation and cover board from membrane roofing manufacturer is acceptable.
