- Description
- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) - The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is issuing this request for information as part of a market research and information gathering effort to determine the availability of technologies to support the acreage reporting requirements for our programs. NOTE: This is a request for information only for market research purposes; this is not a solicitation for proposals or quotes, and there will not be an award made from this announcement. A response to this RFI is not required in order to be considered for an award under a solicitation in the form of an RFQ or RFP for a potential future requirement related to this RFI. Any potential future requirements would be posted under a separate RFQ or RFP announcement numbered separately. Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) is the Department's focal point for the nation's farmers and ranchers and other stewards of private agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest lands. FPAC agencies implement programs designed to mitigate the significant risks of farming through crop insurance services, conservation programs and technical assistance, and commodity, lending, and disaster programs. Many of our programs require detailed acreage reporting including program-specific data, such as type of crop planted, date planted, insurance status, conservation data, and other characteristics. Common Land Units (CLUs) are used to identify specific plots of land and gather data. CLUs may vary among programs - for example, the CLU's for crop reporting may not be the same used for Risk management. The three figures below illustrate a simplistic example of how the same plot of land could be viewed in three different ways by the three agencies. (See attached 6 files) RESPONSE INSTRUCTIONS: Please refer to the attached Request for Information/Sources Sought for details and response information/instructions. In addition to technical content requested in the attached RFI, please provide the following: 1- DUNS # and Cage code from your SAM.gov registration 2- Business size and socio-economic status 3- Whether the posted NAICS code would be appropriate and whether it is included in your registration, as well as any additional NAICS codes that would be appropriate. *Only electronic submissions via email to Farhaan.Nasir@usda.gov & Michelle.Jardine@usda.gov will be accepted. Please ensure any proprietary information is annotated "PROPRIETARY" at either the paragraph or page level. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (29-AUG-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE. PLEASE CONTACT 877-472-3779 or fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
