SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE This is a sources sought notice only and it is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain knowledge of qualified potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification in accordance with NAICS code 811111 or similar NAICS code conducive to automotive repair service. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After a review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be posted to Federal Business Opportunity website (www.FBO.gov). A response to this sources sought notice is not an adequate reply to the forthcoming anticipated solicitation. STATEMENT OF WORK FOR CHEVY EXPRESS VAN REPAIR SERVICE SCOPE: The contractor shall furnish all labor, parts, and expertise necessary to provide the repairs on a 2014 Chevrolet Express Van, 3500, 6.6 Liter Turbo Diesel V8 Duramax L Base Read more: http://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gm-engines/lml/#ixzz5xRh3Qwvi BACKGROUND: The services are in support of the Iowa City VA Health Care System located 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, Iowa 52246. The van is currently located at Billion Auto Iowa City Chevrolet, 2733 Mormon Trek Blvd, Iowa City, Iowa 52246.  The van cannot be started due to the needed repairs and is therefore not drivable. SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED: The contractor shall provide the necessary resources to properly repair the vehicle to optimal working condition. The services shall include the following services. Remove and replace cylinder head gaskets: Clean and check surfaces for warpage. Include, where applicable, adjusting idle speed, ignition timing, valves and clean and adjust spark plugs, clear any trouble codes, replace oil, oil filter, water filter and fuel filter. V8, Diesel w/dual alternators will include removal and re-installation of air conditioning compressor; recover, evacuate and recharge air conditioning system (this includes the removal and re-installation of the alternator). Remove and replace secondary A/C compressor and brackets. Provide the following parts: Gaskets, bolts, clamps, etc., and all associated parts for cylinder head gasket replacement and associated services necessary to make the vehicle fully functional. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Documentation: At the conclusion of service, the Contractor shall provide a written service report indicating the date of service and the services performed and parts replaced. Services performed and parts installed must be accompanied by a 30 warranty or limited warranty.
