- This is Pre-Solicitation Notice for an FMS (Foreign Military Sales) repair requirement for NSN 1005-01-221-8799, part # 5544200, QTY 1 EA.\ \ The Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to contract repair of this part from additional sources. It has been determined to be uneconomical to buy the data or rights to the data. It is uneconomical to reverse engineer the part. This code is used when the Government did not initially purchase the data and/or rights.\ \ The proposed contract action is a FMS repair requirement for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one or a limited number of repair sources under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. All responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting capability statements.\ \ The government does not intend to use procedures at FAR part 12 Acquisition of Commercial items. However, if any company knows of an equivalent commercial item available (same form, fit, and function) they can submit that information within 15 days from the date of publication of this announcement for U.S. government consideration.\ \ This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all capability statements received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. \ Award will only be made to an offeror that is a qualified repair source by a DOD-congizant technical authority and determined Responsible with an active SAM registration. Repair source addition, if eventually approved, may require completion and submission of a SAR (Source Approval Request) package. Award of this repair requirement will not be delayed pending repair source addition(s).
