Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY, 2219-SS59,and a SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. This notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation on the part of the Government. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for quotes. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred associated to this request for capability information. USDA, ARS, is seeking a contractor to provide Three (3) controlled environment incubators for housing insects. Must fit within external dimensions length = 216", depth 140", and height 108" Three internal incubator compartments, each equal in size dimensions not less than 65" wide, 123" deep and 103" high and separately environmentally controlled and constructed of interlocking insulated wall panels with cam-lock fasteners and sealing gaskets between panels with a minimum R factor of 32 insulation foamed in place with primarily closed-cell foam. Exterior walls of 26-gauge smooth galvanized painted white and interior walls of 24 gauge smooth galvanized painted white. Walk-in door on 65" end of each incubator compartment 32" wide by 80" high with magnetic seal perimeter gasket and self-closing cam-lift gravity hinges, lockable latch with inner safety release mechanism, and 14"x14" thermal pane viewing window with hinged, light-tight cover. Temperature control system must tightly maintain temperature within each controlled environment using a continuously running, direct expansion refrigeration system with air cooled condenser in all-weather housing suitable to be mounted remotely on the building roof with R-134a refrigerant, ceiling mounted evaporator of copper tubing and aluminum fins with phenolic coating, and primary heating by a hot gas bypass through the evaporator with supplemental electric heating. Air to be drawn up from the center of each environment through evaporator coils for conditioning and distributed along the ceiling to the side walls and gently discharged across each shelf with an air velocity adjustment system and pre-coil air filter assembly to prevent insects and particulates from entering evaporator coils and air stream. Humidity control with range of 50% to 80 % with lights on between temperature range of 15-30C with electronic Relative Humidity sensors within each environment. Lighting system of dimmable LED lighting (color temperature 4000K) controlled by system controller and easily removable for cleaning purposes. Environmental Control system to maintain temperature, humidity, and lighting systems of each environmental incubator with onboard data logging exportable to USB drive and accessible through a touchscreen user interface for all primary control system functions, capable of graphically displaying past 24 hours of performance. Weather simulation software to simulate conditions for time of year and global locations. Control system accessible remotely through web server for remote data logging, monitoring, and remote programming of system controller on all major web browsers with customizable email notifications of alarms and status updates Shelving of 10 tiers equally spaced along each side and rear wall supported by cantilevered shelf supports with slotted mounting posts constructed of non-corroding material such as aluminum or stainless steel no less than 12" deep Two convenience electrical receptacles within each controlled environment. Fresh air system to satisfy OSHA human occupancy requirements while maintain temperature and humidity set points Instrumentation ports with plugs at front wall of each controlled environment. This sources sought request is being used as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to provide the product(s) required. The result of this market research will contribute to determining whether there are adequate sources available from which to receive competitive proposals.
