Description
Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Providence VA Health Care System, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Virtually Better for the Comprehensive & Custom Integrated System, Complete package solution including all hardware / software related to the Bravemind PTSD solution & VBI's Phobia, Addiction, and Relaxation VR programs. At present the VA is running a VA RR&D Merit-funded research study testing the effectiveness of combining transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) with virtual reality (VR) exposure as a potential treatment for Veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Access to the virtual reality system is vital in order to be able to carry out the above-mentioned Merit-funded research. The VA currently has one Virtually Better VR system available and Virtually Better VR system is the only system we could use with our ongoing study. Especially given that our study involves an ongoing trial, and consistency in VR content is vital. Moreover, when a second VR system is not required as a backup, it permits simultaneous running of participants. This is a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, September 10th, 12:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
