- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Fastener Technology Corporation (FTC) (Cage: 58794) for the procurement of Peculiar Support Equipment End Items Flaring Tools. A quantity (16) of p/n T2797-14 Flaring Tool, quantity (16) of p/n T2797-12 Flaring Tool, quantity (16) of p/n T94-8 Flaring Tool, quantity (16) of p/n T3A7A-16D Puller, and quantity (16) of p/n T3A7B-16 Flaring Tip. The Flaring Tools, which are designed and manufactured by FTC, are used to support EA-1G squadron maintenance requirements. FTC Corporation is the Original Equipment Manufacturer. The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. FTC is the original design authority, developer and manufacturer of the Fastener Tools. The Flaring Tools are essential to support EA-1G squadron maintenance requirements. The designs are proprietary to FTC so FTC is the only vendor that can procure the units without disclosure of technical data. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, responsible sources are encouraged to submit a response to this synopsis in writing that contains information that may be used by the Government to determine whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for an award of a contract.
